From Chepstow towards Monmouth, the route undulates through woodland away from the river to Tintern.
From Tintern, Bigsweir Bridge and Redbrook, all the routes to Monmouth are flat paths along the banks of the River Wye.
Between Lower Lydbrook and Monmouth, the route is flat along the banks of the river Wye apart from a short section rising to the Symonds Yat ridge. The remainder of the route from Symonds Yat to Monmouth is flat.
The Wye Valley Views Walk is a more challenging walk, which includes 2 steep climbs. The walk starts and finishes at Monmouth Show Ground and rises to The Kymin and Buck Stone view points above Monmouth.
You will be given written route instructions for your chosen walk, at Registration on the day of the walk.
Maps are not required, however, if you would like to follow your progress on a map, then we recommend that you use Ordnance Survey “Explorer” series map number OL14.
Unfortunately none of the walks are accessible by wheel chair or push chair.
